To apply for the Meghalaya PSC recruitment 2024, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Educational Qualification:
- Graduate in Arts/Science/Commerce from a recognized university.
- Minimum speed of 80 words per minute in shorthand.
- Age Limit:
- The candidate must be between 18 years to 32 years of age as of 01.01.2024.
- Age Relaxation:
- 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
- No upper age limit for regular government employees who entered government service within the prescribed age limit.

The selection process for the Stenographer Grade-III post includes the following steps:
- Stenography Test:
- This is a qualifying test where candidates will be required to transcribe dictation in English at a speed of 80 W.P.M. for 5 minutes.
- Candidates must complete the transcription within 1 hour.
- A maximum of 7.5%of errors are allowed.
- Written Examination:
- After passing the stenography test, candidates will be eligible to appear for the written examination.
- The exam will include an English composition test, which will be for 1 hour.
- No Personal Interview:
- Candidates who clear the stenography test and the written examination will be selected based on merit.
